土下座して待っている東京青山斉場へ、四月二十日車で乗り込んだのが今は亡き創価学会のあるじです。延々長蛇の大行列に自動車も電車もストップしてしまいました。行列には加わったが、仏壇近くには寄りつけず、歩きながら、「勿体なや」と念じる忙がしさです。狩り出された整理役も一日中旗ふりで汗だく、実にのべ三十万人も動員された葬式でした。
